In Tune with the Moon 2012

This is a lovely diary-type book exploring the Moon' phases over the year with tips and guidance on how to live alongside its cycles. It starts off with a description of the Moon's phases and what they mean before heading into a section looking at working with the Moon. Here is a detailed look at gardening, animal husbandry, bee keeping, wine growing and much more. Plenty to keep the avid gardener ready for each phase. The next section looks at how the moon affect daily living such as when to have your hair cut, looking after your skin and detoxing.

The later part of the book has a diary showing the phases along with tips on what things to do when at that time of the year, and a space to write your own appointments and reminders. All in all it is a great little book for someone who wants to try living in harmony with the Moon throughout the year. Originally printed in French, the book has been used by European gardeners for years. Now is our chance to utilise its tips on the Moon's influence on our garden and lifestyle.

Whilst I'm not sure I shall be consulting the book for when to get my hair trimmed or to get stronger nails, I think that for someone with a real interest in gardening or anyone who has an allotment and is looking to maximise their vegetable growing it would prove invaluable.
