Daya Sarai Chocron was born in Casablanca, Morocco and moved to the States with her family at the age of fourteen. Her interest in holistic healing coupled with her love and respect for Mother Earth and the elements led her to work with the healing properties of crystals and stones. She has published several books on healing. Her first book, Healing with Crystals and Gemstones, was published in Germany in 1984, becoming a best seller in several languages and continues to be read as a classic.

In 1997 she was introduced to the idea of healing using seashells whilst in Hawaii, a practice known as ???The Shell Dance???. This training changed Daya's life and she began to deepen her knowledge of seashells through her own practice and by giving workshops.
