It hardly seems any time since I was last writing to you all, that is what comes of being away for two weeks I guess! We had a wonderful time walking in the mountains above Kaprun in Austria and sitting reading on the balcony of our apartment. I'd forgotten just how joyful being in nature every day is and as we walked and botanized I found myself in a peaceful, almost meditative, space. Now, back in the office, I just have to find the right work/life balance to sustain that feeling.
Whether you are planning to lay on a beach or have a more active summer break you'll want some interesting reading material along with you and Findhorn Press has a variety of books to suit all tastes. Take a virtual stroll through our website and I'm sure you will find the perfect holiday reading there. I packed that old favourite Opening Doors Within by Eileen Caddy, but you might prefer God Spoke to Me, also by Eileen, and on special offer this month. I should have also have packed a book on massage... 1,000 metres (3,250 feet) of descent can play havoc with the knees and hips and Crystal Massage by Michael Gienger (along with a few crystals) would have been a real help! Let me know which books you are taking on holiday with you... perhaps we can even have a poll of popular books to read whilst on holiday!
I Close My Eyes and See which has been available as an e-book since the beginning of the year, is now back in print as a paperback from our UK store (sorry, only the e-book is available from the US store) and with a brand new cover. Dorothy Lewis' simple advice and guided meditations are as valid now as they were in 1996 when the book was first published and will help both those new to the spiritual life and those who have been walking the path for many years.
Just a quick reminder for those of you who use our US store that Birth Space, Safe Place is now available for you to buy. Adela is very experienced at supporting women through the birthing process and the month long bonding period after the birth (the baby-moon) and gently guides and encourages the mum-to-be to chose the birth experience that they want.
On the e-book front I personally am delighted to see Eco-Villages & Sustainable Communities is now available. This is a series of essays is from the activists who were working in the field of sustainability, and is a necessary tool for anyone who is motivated to live more sustainably. Of course anyone who care about the planet and sustainability will want to read the Fire Dogs of Climate Change by Sally Andrew to discover just how each and every one of us can make change happen and the sustainable way to do this is buy reading the e-book!
Returning to our roots our special offers this month are two of Eileen Caddy's books, God Spoke to Me and her autobiography Flight into Freedom & Beyond. Findhorn Press came into being to publish Eileen's guidance and over 30 years on we are proud to still be publishing the guidance and meditations she received all those years ago, knowing they are as valid now as they were the day she received them.
